Mrs. Leah Kobilo Rotich, MBS

Biography

Mrs. Rotich began her career as a Mathematics teacher with the Ministry of Education, Kenya, in 1983.

Over time, she ascended the ranks to Principal of a leading Girls Secondary School. She served as Education Attache at the Kenya High Commission, London, and later joined the Ministry of Education as a Deputy Director of Education in 2005 and retired as the Director General of Education in 2017. A staunch advocate for child-friendly schools, she believes in the importance of a happy school environment for children to realize their potential.

Currently, Rotich serves on the Board of Millennium Water Alliance–Kenya, the County Education Board of Baringo, and a member of Board of Management of some schools in Baringo County.

Additionally, she is actively involved in the empowerment of Women in her community. Rotich stands by the principle that communal growth is achieved through leading by example and that together we grow.
