Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

Biography
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum is a renowned Ghanaian educator and policymaker with over 30 years of experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Planning, and Administration from the University of Southern California. Dr. Adutwum founded New Designs Charter Schools in California and later served as Ghana’s Minister of Education, where he implemented significant reforms like the Free Senior High School Policy and expanded STEM education. He has commissioned 80 educational projects in one day, a historic milestone in Ghana’s education sector. Through his YOA Foundation, he provides full scholarships to bright students in Engineering and Medicine. A global thought leader, Dr. Adutwum has spoken at forums such as the UN Transforming Education Summit. He was awarded the Distinguished Citizen Medal in 2024 for his contributions to education.
